Barclays LifeSkills Mentoring Programme
Barclays are extending their free LifeSkills programme to inspire a group of young people who are the most under-served in society, giving them the best possible opportunities and network to move forward.
The aim of the programme is to help students develop skills and gain experiences of work to help motivate them in the rest of their school lives.
In the 2017-2018 academic year mentors worked with students from October 2017-July 2018. This also included an online platform for reflective learning and practical activities, and culminated in a work experience opportunity in the summer of 2018.
The journey of learning is designed to support students in acquiring both the soft skills such as confidence and problem solving, as well as the practical skills of how to put a CV together and how to interview well.
You would need to commit to the students being involved over the 12 month period, which would include attending six face to face sessions with a member of staff.
Applications for this programme is currently closed.
